Camp Cough No Mas
Thank you for your interest in the Asthma
Allies’ 2010 Camp Cough No Mas! We are committed to providing New Mexican
children with asthma a fun, exciting and high quality summer camp experience
for the second year in a row.
Camp Cough No Mas is designed for New
Mexican children with asthma ages 7-13 who want to go to a week-long summer
camp. Campers engage in a variety of creative and recreational summer camp
activities (music, arts & crafts, field games, hiking, fishing, and community-building
experiences) organized and led by an experienced camp staff. Campers are
encouraged to explore and develop skills and interests in a safe and supportive
environment.
The camp experience provides asthma
education through certified asthma educators, necessary medical management and
treatment through a 24-hour volunteer clinical staff. Trained staff manages
your child’s asthma and teaches important techniques on how to manage asthma.
In addition, family members of campers also participate in helpful asthma
education sessions before & after camp so that asthma self-management
strategies can be supported in the home environment throughout the year.
