Addressing Asthma in Schools So Students Can Breathe Easy!
Asthma Allies has developed several
programs that help address asthma within the school setting. Our programs utilize evidence-based
interventions and national guidelines that have shown positive outcomes for
decreasing student absenteeism due to asthma; improving communication between
school staff, parents and students; and reducing indoor environmental triggers
for asthma.
Brown Bag Series for
Educators
The Brown Bag Series for
Educators provides elementary, middle and high school personnel a complete
and thorough understanding of asthma and allergies and their impact in the
educational setting. The series also provides school personnel the tools they
need to manage asthma and allergies in daily activities and emergency
situations through a team approach.
AA-Managing Asthma in Today’s Schools
AA-Managing Asthma in Today’s
Schools is an asthma education program developed by Asthma Allies. This program
provides asthma education and management
services to middle and high school students with asthma in a school-based
setting.
Student Asthma &
Allergy Resource Team (StAART)
The StAART program is a peer
education program to help youth without asthma or allergies fully understand
these conditions and become team players to help their peer avoid triggers and
live a safe and full life with asthma and allergies.
